Ring Bearer
So this is my new favorite quote from Parker. We were just sitting at the table, and randomly he says, with all seriousness and concern. . . "I'm going to be the ring bearer. . . I'm not going to wear a bear suit, but ill put the rings in a bear." HAHA funny kid!

FHE
Last night I went to visit my friend Lawrence Lee who lives in walnut. First we walked around his ginormous backyard and ate some yummy plums. After that we were just sitting around so he showed me his portfolio he had made when he was younger of comic book heroes(the Time Travel Police) he had made up, and other random drawings. My personal favorite was a picture of some mortal combat guy and some other superhero fighting, and the mortal combat guy is saying "Give me your pogs bub!" haha. . . Pogs! While looking through all his drawings he found a file of poems he had writen when he was like 13. He read me some of the emo ones. . .haha. . .
Then we went to his stake singles ward family home evening. I walked into the church building and heard someone say "Trisha?!" It was none other than my long lost second cousin Naomi. She was there with her friend Tom, who my friend Lawrence kind of knew from a long time ago. I really liked this picture of Tom modeling Naomi's purse, doesn't he look like he could be a super model. . . haha. . .
Anyways, for FHE we took cookies to the bishopric which was fun although I obviously didn't know any of them. The four of us all rode together in the same car, rocking out to the music, and Lawrence even did a little solo to Enrique Iglesias. . . lol. Then we played sparkle (or as GG calls it, farkle) which I won (Woo Hoo!).
PS Kinda Random, but one of the missionaries that came to fhe was Johnny Gunther, a boy from my BYU freshman ward, WEIRD!
Afterwards Lawrence was starving (like a 10 out of 10!) so Lawrence, Naomi, Tom, and I went to Banana Bay and ate some awesome Thai food. I had cashew chicken (number 8
3 if you were wondering) which was really good! I also tried some shrimp chips(not so good). Naomi got a banana roll a la mode, which was pretty good (you can see her modeling it in the picture). We had a lot of fun taking pictures as you can
probably tell. It was really nice to get to see Naomi again, since im pretty sure I haven't seen her in like 5 years. Not to mention we had so much fun!

KIRA'S MISSION CALL!!!
I can't believe it, but Kira (my roommate for the past 2 years) finally got her mission call. I was soooooo bummed that I couldn't be there when she opened it, but she called me and had me on the phone when she opened it. I was so nervous all day, I had butterflies in my stomach for about half an hour before she opened it. For the last like 5 minutes before she was supposed to open it, I stood there staring at my phone. She said that she was shaking when she was opening it. Finally she opened it, Drumroll please. . . She will be serving in the Philippines Cauayan Mission and will be speaking Tagolog! She will enter the Provo MTC on October 1st. WOW! This has been such a long time in coming, I can't believe that she will actually be leaving. She is going to be staying in Provo till I get back before she heads up to Montana until she enters the MTC. Man Kira is amazing, I am so excited for her! I know that she will be an awesome missionary, and you better believe I will be writing her letters all the time. I may even be heading up a mission blog for her, so stay tuned for that.
Since I wasn't there to take pictures while she opened her mission call, I though I would just put a random picture of her on here. I can't believe it, I'm still in shock!

Home
So, I made it home last night. My plane came in at 11:00pm, and Josie really wanted to stay awake to come get me, but she finally fell asleep at 10:30. During my layover, I talked to Josie on the phone and she told me she was going to wake me up early in the morning. After a little bartering I talked her into not waking me up before 8:45. It was so cute, because when I got home, I saw a note that she had written to herself reminding herself not to wake me up till 8:45. Lol. She's so funny! First thing we did was play some pretty

pretty princess, which Parkie won. Doesn't he look so good with that crown on? He told me that the earrings are his favorite part. . . lol. . . It is so nice to be home, and to get to see my Josie and Parkie again, too bad Krista and her kids can't be here now too. I guess we will just have to wait for the wedding for everyone to be here. It will be a big party! Woo Hoo!! I can't wait!

Callie's Wedding
Also, Kira put in her mission papers last week, and I can't wait to see where she will be going. She is crazy about France and speaking French, so I am hoping she will be sent to somewhere like Mexico City or something. haha. . . I am super bummed though, because her mission call will probably come while I am home, so I wont get to be there when she opens it :(

Super Service Saturday!
Today was our wards Super Service Saturday, which was so much fun! In the morning we went to an extensive care, Alzheimer's unit of a rest home where a girl from our ward works. We put on a talent show for them. As the talent show started I went and sat by a
lady named Joyce. She was fascinated by me and during the whole talent show (like and hour) she kept looking at me and pointing. She would try to talk, but it was pretty much like baby babling. She would just look and me and smile and say ou ou ou ou da da da da da. . . It was so awesome, every once in a while, someone would be singing a son that she remembered, and she would hum the tune as she continued to babble on. She kept trying to get me to do something, but I didn't understand, she would like try to push me to get up. Later I realized, I think she was trying to get me to get up and sing like the others who were performing were doing. After everyone performed their talents, we all got up and sang a couple of songs all together, and Joyce was just smiling at me the whole time I was up there. We sang A Child's Prayer, and you could hear alot of the residents humming along as they remembered the song, it was a really awesome experience.

After we sang a couple of more songs, one where one of the residents came up and sang with us(lol), we had a dance. It was so funny to watch everyone dancing. One lady even tried to put the moves on one of the boys from my ward, I almost died laughing.

I went around and talked with some of the residents after a bit of da
ncing and got to know some really nice ladies. One lady just kept telling me how pretty she thought I was. She kept telling me things like, oh you have such nice dimples, and you rosie cheeks, and your skin is so nice, and your one mole above your eyebrow. . . it was so funny! She asked me if my parents had put something on my face when I was little to give me dimples. lol. Then when she started talking about moles, she was telling me how she has a lot of moles, so I showed her my mole between my toes, and she thought that was pretty funny. She told me that if it were her, she would have thought it was dirt. She was so nice and funny!
Then I talked to two other ladies who were also really funny. One was kinda ornery (the one on the right) and went off about how she didn't want
to be there, and how they never do anything in the rest home, and how her kids only visit her to get presents, etc. I kinda got the feel like when you talk to grandpa, and sometimes things are different in their minds then in reality. Anyways, i thought she was pretty funny. The lady on the left was really nice and asked me where i was from, and what i was doing in utah, and after I answered, she asked me again where i was from and what i was doing in utah. It was really funny, i just pretended like she hadn't asked before.
P.S. I tried to not be in this picture, but they made me be in it, I am way to close to the camera!
I had so much fun getting to know some of the residents, and getting to shake my groove thing with them. Even if they can't remember that we visited them, I could see the happiness they felt while we were there.
That evening our ward went to the Jordan River Temple which was also really awesome. Its a lot of fun to get to do baptisms with people you know. My home teacher was the one doing the baptisms for me. He kept giving me pep talks about bending my knees and whatnot, it was really funny. When we were actually doing the baptisms, one time my finger didn't make it all the way under, so the next time he slammed me so far down in the water, i lost my footing and everything. I came out of the water and all he said was "I was going to get you under. . . " I couldn't stop laughing, he kept asking me everytime i came up, if i was ok. . . I must hav
e looked like i was dying or something. lol. Anyways, afterwards we had muffins, and went home.
Sorry this was such a long blog! This was one of the best days I've had in a long time. It reminds me of how much joy we get from serving others. Hopefully it wont be too long before I can find another way to do service..
P.S. On the way to and from the temple we listened to this amazing talk called A Personal Search for the Meaning of the Atonement by W. Cleon Skousen. I think im going to buy it.
P.P.S. 9 Days!!!
