Random

So, I have gotten so far behind on blogs, that I decided to just lump a bunch of things together into a random blog. . .

Ok, first and foremost, I wanted to introduce everyone to the newest characters in my life. . . my new roommates. Katie is my room roommate, and she is a ton of fun. She is very laid back, but also crazy. She is from Heber, and had 9 siblings! (Whoa!) She is not going to school right now, and works at a place called stores online. I was really worried when I found out that Kira was actually leaving me to go on a mission, and that she had sold her contract to a completely random person that she hadn't even interviewed. . . How Rude! . . I am very lucky and glad that I got Katie as my roommate because we have a lot of similarities so we get along really well together. She is crazy and has started making me run with her. We have a lot of fun seeing how hard we can push ourselves (the farthest we have gone to date is 7.25 miles), especially when we wear our matching green t-shirts (that Kira had put in the DI pile). Sometime our other roommate, Wendy, will come running with us, and she has a matching shirt as well. Katie puffs her inhailer while we run, which is why she is posing with it in the picture. We were feeling a little crazy when we took these pictures if you couldn't tell. . .
My other roommates name is Meghan and she is also pretty cool. She is from Colorado and plays the Sax in the BYU martching band. I got really lucky with my living situation this semester. . .
Other exciting things happening lately. . . BYU football has been great this year, I have gone to every one of the home games. It is soooo much fun, im kinda sad that this is my last year. In this picture with me is my friend Aaron, we go to all the games together. He is a friend of my roommate from last year, Jet. He is pretty cool. The day that this picture was taken was pretty much the sunniest day of my life. . . the day after you could deffinitely tell who had been at the game and not, because half the student body had sun burns on half their faces. . . haha. . .

What else. . . Oh yeah, I went on a couple dates with a boy named Jared Weed, he is pretty cool too. Here is a picture from when we hiked the Y like 3 weeks ago. He served his mission in Las Vegas, and was actually in Mesquite for a while. He said he remembered Judge Dodd, and that he wistles to himself all the time. . .haha. . . Last night we went to the Haunted Forest, and I was bummed that I forgot to bring my camera. It was a lot of fun though, there was a couple of girls in our group who were freaking out which was pretty hilarious to watch. I never really jumped or reacted to the monsters, so they pretty much just left me alone. There were some rooms that were very small so you had to duck, and they were pitch black, which freaked me out a bit, I guess i must be claustrophobic, I almost refused to go into one of the rooms because it was so squished. Mostly I just laughed at all the monsters though, so it was way fun overall.
So, I think thats it for my random hodge podge of blogs, I hope you enjoyed it.

Porter's Pirate Party!

So, While I was down in St. George for the funeral, we also celebrated Porter's 4th birthday. It was pirate theme, and so much fun! Krista made an awesome pirate ship cake (with some help from josie who helped to decorate the masts), and we played games like X marks the spot(like pin the tail on the donkey), a picture treasure hunt (with a REAL treasure at the end. . . CANDY!), and playing with the pirate gear they got. It was a lot of fun, and I love that Grandpa even wore an eye patch for the picture. . . what a good sport!

Porter gots some pretty cool presents like some shake and go Batman toys, and a fun talking book from Parker, not to mention a few outfits from his grandma of course. Oh yeah, and 4 dollars from his favorite aunt. . . yes that would be me!

Later that evening we had another pirate party for our cousin Jay who's birthday it really was. We had another treasure hunt, more X marks the spot, and even drop the bones in the basket. . . it was a lot of fun, then after that the adults played pirates charades/pictionary (you got to choose which you wanted to do), and then a round or two of scum. . . it was a lot of fun.

Also, while in St. George, the kids had a blast playing in the pool, and acting crazy as usual. All the kids kept making me take their pictures again and again and again when they jumped into the pool. I would have to say though, that this one of parker is by far my favorite. . . haha. . . I just think it is so funny, something about it reminds me of that famous picture of Big Foot. . .lol. . .

Uncle Chris

This last weekend I went down to St. George to go to my Uncle Chris's funeral. I got to perform in a surprise musical number. I got to the funeral about 15 minutes early and my mom and sister informed me i was singing with a group of cousins, so we ran through the song like once before the funeral began. Surprise!

The funeral was really good, and probably my favorite part was when parker was pretty much yelling "why are you crying?" "there's water on your eyes" over and over again, it was pretty funny. Overall the funeral was really good, they had his three sisters tell about his life and their memories of him, then my cousin did the nieces and nephews perspective telling memories that we all had of him, mostly involving horses, bowling, charades, elvis, performing, etc. Besides our musical number, the great nieces and nephews also sang a song, it was so cute!

I will miss my Uncle Chris, but I am so grateful for those memories that I have of him. I can't imagine not having such a special uncle like Chris. I really dont think the word uncle describes him correctly, he was kind of like a grandparent, because I got to see him whenever I went to see my grandparents, and kind of like another grandkid because he would always play with me. I still have the necklace he gave me when I was like 5. I will always remember the good times I had with my uncle playing games, like chicken foot and canasta. I remember him picking to be my partner in canasta, and then laughing at me when I would say silly things or do something crazy. I remember one time we were playing and I kept singing the song that played when the clock struck the hour (i think it was the cinderella song) and I would sing it really crazy and he would just laugh at me. . . good times. . . anyways, it was good getting to go to the funeral, and I am glad I got to see my family again.
P.S. I dont have a scanner, so I stole these pictures from Krista's blog. . . Thanks Krist!
